Benefits of club membership

Interested in joining? Have questions? Contact our membership chairman and take a tour of our facilities! All prospective members must attend a membership orientation and a monthly club meeting. Our meetings are open to everyone; no RSVP or sign-up is required.

Please print and fill out a membership application and liability waiver and bring them with you to the membership orientation along with your annual dues. We accept cash or checks. At this time, we do not accept credit card payment.

Our members have unlimited annual access to more than 71 acres of prime Virginia land next to Fountainhead Regional Park. We have seven functional ranges.

Our 3-D range is 1.5 miles long and boasts 25 individual Rinehart targets, and our field range is 2 miles long, with 28 targets. Each course has shooting distances to accommodate every skill level.

Our club grounds are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Traditional Bowhunters of Virginia

The Traditional Bowhunters of Virginia is making a strong effort to once again become a viable state-wide organization. Our club and the VBA support their efforts and encourage your participation. Contact them from their website to learn more.

Crossbows

Crossbows are not allowed on club grounds at any time, for any reason.

When the Virginia Legislature voted to approve crossbows for hunting, we anticipated that we would have current and prospective members that would want to use them on the range. Initially, we looked at this as an opportunity to get more members. Our Secretary took the time to check with our sanctioning organizations, the park authority, and our insurance. Preliminarily investigation turned up no resistance.

However after consulting with several people who are familiar with the use of crossbows, we came to the conclusion that, due to the nature of these devices (specifically that they can be armed to fire at an undetermined time in the future), the NORVA range facility would have to be set up like a rifle range with a range officer overseeing the line at all times. For this reason, it is not practical to allow their use.
